You’re going to want to start your morning by swinging by the William Paca House and Garden and join them for their Fourth of July Celebration to celebrate the birth of our nation with one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence! William Paca and several other important Annapolitans, portrayed by the Annapolis Living Historians, will welcome you into the Paca’s home as they discuss “current” events during that momentous year of our nation’s birth, 1776. After touring the house, the entire family can enjoy some patriotic crafts and explore Mr. Paca’s 2-acre pleasure garden. After visiting with the Pacas and Annapolis’s elite upper class, stroll on over to Hogshead. More costumed re-enactors will be there to tell the story of the working class of Annapolis. Learn about the lives of colonial craftspeople and how they contributed to the Revolution with their skilled labor and patriotism.
Another great historical oriented celebration is the July 4th Independence Day Celebration at Historic London Town and Gardens! There will be a performance of Frederick Douglass’ “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July” at 11am. Followed by a relaxed afternoon of conversations of taverns, archaeology and early America over drinks.
The Annapolis Fourth of July Parade festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a community parade. This patriotic salute to our nation is always a crowd pleaser with thousands of viewers lining the route. Attendees will enjoy this patriotic salute to our nation, with marching bands, fire engines old and new, cars and vans, service clubs and scouts! The United States Naval Academy presents a concert at 8:00 p.m. And finally nothing better than ending your star-spangled day with fireworks on the water!
Every Thursday Through July to August 15th at the 15th Annual Tides & Tunes Summer Concert Series, enjoy ten weeks of popular music – from rock to folk, to jazz – with the incomparable backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay.
